Terms of Service
These terms govern your use of the Relay application and associated services operated by Relay Labs. By using Relay, you agree to these terms.
1. Description of service
Relay is an end-to-end encrypted messaging application. The service includes text messages, audio and video calls, voice notes, file sharing, and group conversations, all protected by end-to-end encryption.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years old to use Relay. By creating an account, you certify that you meet this requirement. If you are under 18, you represent that your parent or guardian has agreed to these terms.
3. Your account
- You are responsible for the confidentiality of your password and recovery code.
- One account per person.
- You cannot transfer or sell your account.
- You will notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account.
4. Acceptable use
You agree not to use Relay to:
- Send spam, unsolicited advertising, or mass communications.
- Harass, intimidate, or threaten other users.
- Distribute malware or attempt to access third-party systems.
- Conduct unlawful activities or violate applicable laws.
- Share content that violates third-party rights (copyright, trademarks, privacy).
5. Encryption and privacy
Your message content is encrypted on your device. Relay Labs cannot access the content of your communications. You are solely responsible for the information you share through the application.
6. Service availability
We strive to keep the service available at all times, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted availability. We may modify, suspend, or discontinue all or part of the service with reasonable notice.
7. Intellectual property
Relay and its software are the property of Relay Labs. Content you share via the application remains your property. You grant Relay Labs a limited license to process that content solely for the purpose of providing the service (encrypted relay).
8. Termination
You may delete your account at any time from Settings. We may suspend or delete your account in case of material breach of these terms, after notification where reasonably possible.
9. Limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by law, Relay Labs will not be liable for indirect, incidental, or punitive damages resulting from your use of or inability to use the service.
10. Governing law
These terms are governed by French law. Any dispute will be subject to the competent jurisdiction of Paris, unless applicable consumer law provides otherwise.
